Uppsala Open MCR Mahjong Championship 2025


Information

Date: 15th February 2025
Venue: Studiefrämjandet, Ljusbärargatan 2, Uppsala, Sweden.

Registration: using the online form.

Include: name and country, EMA ID if you have one. Find your ID on the European rankings lists. If you don’t have one yet you will get one after the tournament.
Registration Fee: 250 SEK, including lunch + coffee/tea.    If you have Swish (Swedish electronic payment service) you can pay to 0739816654 (Petter Ranefall), otherwise via bank transfer:

EMA Referee Seminar


Purpose

There are two main purposes:

  • To certify EMA referees
  • In the longer term to create a common European standard for refereeing at official EMA certified competitions

Content

The content is split into 3 major parts:

  • Rules and regulations, clarification and motivation of the rules and regulations used by EMA
  • Behaviour, how to act as referee in different situations, and how to interact with the players
  • Certification, an individual written test to examine if the participant has grasped the key points, a certain score is needed for the certification to be granted

Expectations

The participants are expected to show interest for:

  • Understanding and exercising the rules and fair play
  • Being a referee and helping players with clarifications and guidance
  • Making sure EMA certified tournaments are refereed in a proper and orderly manner

The participants are expected to read carefully within the last couple of weeks before the seminar:

Practical Info

The seminar will be held 9-15 o’clock February 16, 2025, at Studiefrämjandet, Ljusbärargatan 2, Uppsala, Sweden.

The seminar and test will be in English.

The registration will cost about 100 SEK (including lunch). Register by the online form or by sending an email to petter@rainfall.se at the latest on Sunday, February 9. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.
