Swedish Open Riichi Mahjong Championship 2026

Date: 11-12th of July 2026
Rules: EMA Riichi Competition Rules (RCR) - latest edition (2025)
Number of participants: max 52 players. (51 registered players from 7 countries). In case the maximum number of registrations is reached we will keep a waiting list.
Venue: Bagarmossens kulturhus, Stockholm.

Registration: using the online form.

Include: name and country, EMA ID. Find your ID on the European rankings lists.
Registration Fee: 55€ or 600 SEK (no lunch included).
Payment deadline: 26th June 2026.

Registration is considered complete once payment has been received. Payment can be made by bank transfer, Swish or Paypal, details for the payment options will be sent out by email. Players who have not paid before the payment deadline are not guaranteed their spot. Refunds after the payment deadline can not be guaranteed.

Travel to Stockholm

By Plane:

There are three airports surrounding Stockholm
Arlanda airport – The main airport. Connected to Stockholm central station by Arlanda Express (fastest), airport shuttle Flygbussarna or commuter train (SL). Note that travelling to and from Arlanda by commuter train incurs an additional fee on top of your SL ticket.
Bromma airport – connected to Stockholm central station via airport shuttle (Flygbussarna) or by taking the tram and switching to the green subway line at Alvik (SL).
Skavsta Airport – Located in Nyköping roughly 100km south of central Stockholm. Two different airport shuttles, Flygbussarna and Flixbus, have departures between Stockholm and Skavsta. This is our least recommended option.

Hotels: We do not supply any specific recommendations for hotels.

Getting to the Venue:
The venue is located in Bagarmossen, the penultimate station on the green subway line heading for Skarpnäck (line 17 southwards). It takes 17 minutes from central station and 10 minutes from Gullmarsplan. For the smoothest travel to the venue we recommend looking at hotels along the green line between Hötorget (one station north of T-centralen) and Gullmarsplan, near Globen, or in Hammarby Sjöstad which is connected to Gullmarsplan via trams.

Alternatively there is a bus going to Bagarmossen (161) and several going to Skarpnäck (1 min by train/15min walk from Bagarmossen). There is also parking near the venue.

Payment: All the local transits (commuter train, subway and busses) are handled by SL and you can find information about how to buy tickets at sl.se. Please note that you cannot pay by cash on the trains or buses.
